Sweet and Spicy BBQ Shrimp

Sweet and Spicy BBQ Shrimp hot off the grill, a summertime classic.  Grilled to perfection in less than 10 minutes, this dish is as quick and healthy as it is delicious.  I used a store bought BBQ sauce and to it I added brown sugar, honey and cayanne pepper.  The results were mouth watering sweet and spicy shrimp that everyone went nuts over.

Ingredients:
  • 2 lbs of large tail on shrimp, deveined
  • 3 green peppers, cut into large squares
  • 2 onions, cut into eighths
  • 1/2 cup store bought BBQ sauce.
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/8th cup packed browm sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cayanne pepper
  • 10 wooden skewers, soaked in water
Instructions:

In a shallow pan, lay the skewers flat and cover with water while you prepare your ingredients.  This will prevent them from burning on the grill later.  In a small bowl combine BBQ sauce, cayanne, honey, and brown sugar, mix well.  In a large bowl combine shrimps, peppers and onions.  Add the sauce and toss gently.  Skewer the shrimps, peppers and onions on the skewers.  I used 2 of each per skewer.  On a preheated grill simply lay these out and allow to cook about 5 minutes on each side or until the shrimp take on a nice pink color.  I like to remove them from the skewer and serve on a plate, but you can serve it with the skewer and all.
