Mela cotta translates to cooked apples, but its so much more. It's like apple pie filling with out the guilt. It's a delicious dessert you can make in just a few simple steps. This is a dessert I often make for my children after dinner that's quick and healthy and only has 2 or 3 ingredients.
You'll need:
3 golden delicious apples
1 teaspoon cinnamon1 tablespoon butter (optional)
1/4 cup water
Peel, core and cut your apples
Place in a small pot and add cinnamon and water
Cover and cook on medium low heat for 15 minutes or till apples are soft
Uncover and cook for 2 or 3 more minutes to allow the juices to condense a bit and concentrate
Apples will be VERY HOT, so allow to cool a bit before serving
Serve alone or with ice cream, MMMMMMMMMMMM
I impress my kids by showing them that you can eat an entire apple; skin, seeds, core and all... but this way is much better :)
